Interim bail of Zardari, Talpur extended until April 29
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday extended the interim bail of former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur until April 29 in the multi-billion fake bank accounts case, ARY News reported.
An IHC bench, comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani, gave the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) more time to submit its response to the bail petitions of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders.
Zardari and his sister appeared in the court for extension of their interim bail.
The NAB prosecutor requested the bench to grant more time to submit response to the petitions.
Accepting the bureau’s request, the high court adjourned the hearing till April 29.
Earlier, on March 28, the court had approved the bail of the PPP co-chairman and his sister against a surety of Rs1 million each.

The accountability court in Islamabad on April 8 conducted the first hearing into the fake bank accounts case. During the hearing, the two accused woman Noreen and Kiran formally submitted an application seeking to become approvers in this reference.
Asif Zardari and his sister appeared before the Accountability Court-II Judge Arshad Malik amid tight security arrangements around the judicial complex Islamabad.
