Lahore High Court orders to remove Nasir Jamshed’s name from ECL

Nasir Jamshed

The Lahore High Court has ordered the authorities to remove name of former Pakistan batsman Nasir Jameshed from Exit Control List (ECL).

The Pakistan cricket board (PCB) had banned Jamshed for ten years for his part in the spot-fixing scandal during the Pakistan Super League in 2017.

Deputy Attorney General informed the court that Jamshed was named in ECL on (Federal Investigation Agency) FIA’s recommendation.

While Jamshed’s lawyer Ali Raza remained adamant that his client’s name had been unlawfully included in the ECL. “It was illegal to put Nasir’s name in ECL, FIA and Interior ministry had no right to do so,” Jamshed’s lawyer said.

However, after hearing the standpoint, the court ordered to withdraw Nasir Jamshed’s name from the ECL.

The Lahore born cricketer have played 48 one-day internationals and two tests, he was suspended from all forms of cricket for violating the PCB’s anti-corruption code.
