LHC issue notice to PCB for appointment of Chairman, MD

The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a notification to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for appointing its chairman and Managing Director (MD), advocate Sheegan Ajaz said on Tuesday.

According to Ajaz, the LHC have issued the notice due to the illegal appointment of MD Wasim Khan. “There is no clause defining the post of MD in PCB’s constitution,” he said.

Ajaz said that according to the Supreme Court no higher post at government level should be offered to the person containing dual nationality or residing permanently in a foreign country.

“PCB’s chairman Ehsan Mani is a permanent resident and Waseem contains UK nationality,” he claimed.

It is pertinent to mention here that PCB’s governing board members protested against the appointment of Waseem as MD. The members walked out of the 53rd meeting of the BoG held in Quetta.
