New LG system in Punjab to bring revolutionary change in governance: PM Imran
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Wednesday said that they were introducing a comprehensive local body system in Punjab and claimed that the new system would bring a revolutionary change in governance.
Presiding over a meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary board in Lahore, PM Imran said that people expressed their full confidence on the local government system introduced by his party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which brought remarkable improvements in all sectors.
The prime minister said that the proposed local government system in Punjab would lead to a new thinking and added that the devolution of power would empower the common man in real terms, besides the immediate and transparent resolution of local issues for sustainable development.

He said improvement cannot be expected unless we improve the system in our cities and added that the new local government system in Punjab would bring positive changes in the lives of people.
Imran Khan said that their government had also brought a detailed and wide ranging poverty alleviation program which was unprecedented and will have far reaching impacts.
He directed the administration to take special steps for curbing the inflation and profiteering during the holy month of Ramazan.
