Pakistan Asia’s important country for tech investment: Fawad Chaudhry
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Chaudhry Fawad said on Tuesday that Pakistan was an important country in Asia for investment in the field of technology, ARY News reported.
He stated this while speaking to Senior Vice President of ZTE and head of its Asia
Business Zhonghua Mei, called on him in Islamabad. The company’s chief executive officer in Pakistan Mao Zhixia and other officials were also present during the meeting.

Chaudhry said media university was being set up in which existing academies of Pakistan Television, Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation and Information Service would be merged and students would be given state-of-the-art training in media, performing arts as well as technology.
He said he may visit China soon to seek professional cooperation for the Media University which was a flagship project of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The minister said the government was setting up special economic zones in the country and invited ZTE to benefit from the pro-business policies of the present government.
Addressing a press conference earlier in the day, the minister said federal cabinet approved established of ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Authority’, taking a step forward to fulfil the promise for construction of low-cost houses.
“25,000 apartments will be built in Islamabad for federal government employees, as well as the construction of a township for fishermen in Gwadar,” he added.
