PM Imran Khan summons federal cabinet meeting today
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned the federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday with several important points on the agenda including briefing to the members about his visit to China, ARY News reported Friday.
According to sources, the prime minister and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will take the cabinet into confidence regarding the premier’s visit to China.
Finance adviser Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and PM’s adviser on commerce will brief the cabinet on agreements reached during prime minister’s visit to China.
The minister for planning and development will also brief the members on second phase of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Besides, a 16-point agenda has also been finalized including a proposal to bifurcate Petroleum and Power Division as separate ministries.

It is expected that approval will be given to exemption of special duty on machinery imported for offshore drilling.
The agenda also includes appointment of judges in different courts. The cabinet is also likely to approve induction of Inquiry Act 2017 into Schedule-2 of Rules of Procedure.
The body will also endorse decisions of cabinet committee on energy.
The cabinet is also expected to approve appointment of director general of Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC).
The members of the cabinet will also discuss proposed plan to tackle famine and they are expected to give it a nod.
