ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday set hearing of the bail extension plea of deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif for May 3, ARY News reported.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa will hear the case on Friday. The bench also includes Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Yahya Afridi.
Nawaz Sharif is currently on six-week bail on medical grounds. His bail will expire on May 7.
“Interim bail should be extended until judgment in the review petition”, Sharif stated in his plea.
The PML-N supremo has further said in his plea that he hoped that review petition will be maintained by the top court regarding March 26 verdict.
The Supreme Court had granted Sharif bail for six weeks on medical grounds on March 26 against surety bonds amounting to Rs5 million each.
