Thar Coal power plant to ‘change lives’ of people: Sindh ministers
KARACHI: The ministers of Sindh belonging to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have termed the inauguration of Thar Coal Power Plant a ‘historic event’ and said it will change lives of the people living in the district, ARY News reported.
Provincial ministers Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Ghulam Murtaza Baloch and special assistant to chief minister Sindh, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, in a statement, expressed their hope that inauguration of Thar Coal Power Plant will not only change the lives of the people living in Thar but it will also benefit Sindh in particular and Pakistan in general.

Earlier in the day, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the Thar coal power project.
The Thar coal power project has a capacity to generate 660 megawatts and consists of two power generation units of 330MW each.
The project was completed under china-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) flagship public private partnership of government of Sindh. For this project, Sindh government has given the sovereign guarantee of seven hundred million dollars.
