Watch: Irfan Khan eyes to score big in U19 World Cup quarter-final
Johannesburg: Middle-order batsman Irfan Khan has aimed that the team will score big runs against Afghanistan at the ICC U19 World Cup quarter-final.
“In the quarter-final, our aim would be to score big runs and then restrict the opposition and keep things simple in the chase if we are to chase a target, we should aim to chase it down quickly,” Irfan said in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Mianwali born Irfan is happy with his own performances and also with the team as they are performing collectively.
“Mohammad Haris and Qasim Akram have batted very well and led the way for us while our bowlers have given collective and valuable performances which have helped us in our qualification for the quarter-finals,” he added.
Irfan looks to grab a chance in any department of the game that benefits the team to win the match. He also emphasized on his fielding skills as he is considered to be one of the good fielders in the current U19 squad.
“I always think that if a chance comes to me I will grab it in any form, I enjoy doing fielding and our fielding coach also works very hard with us, I have been selected in many sides due to my fielding abilities alone,” he maintained.
Irfan was in great touch in the first encounter against Scotland U19 where he played 38-run innings in 37 balls which helped his side beating the minnows by seven wickets. In the second match against Zimbabwe, Irfan played a vital 15 off 18 balls and in the field took a stunning catch at mid-wicket by diving full length and to dismiss Zimbabwe captain Dion Myers.
It must be noted that Pakistan U19 will face Afghanistan U19 on January 31st at Willowmorre Park in Benoni.
