Karachi Kings set to take on Peshawar Zalmi in second match of PSL 5
Karachi: The most followed franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Karachi Kings will start their PSL five campaign against Peshawar Zalmi at National Stadium.
Imad Wasim led Kings will start the tournament on a winning note as he stated that they will play a different brand of cricket this time. Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, are coming with a great amount of practice because they were the first squad to reach Karachi for PSL five.
All eyes will be on Sharjeel Khan who is making a comeback after three years. It will be interesting to see who will open the innings with Sharjeel as Babar Azam, the world number one T20I batsman and explosive opener Alex Hales is in the squad.
Besides them, they have other good batsmen like Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Cameron Delport.
The bowling department will be led by skipper Imad along with Mohammad Amir, their experienced bowler in the ranks. They have also two great overseas death bowlers as Chris Jordan and Ali Khan, the renowned faces of franchise cricket all over the globe.
The runners-up of the last two seasons, Zalmi will highly depend on Kamran Akmal at the top. English opener, Tom Banton will most probably open with him who is coming from a great BBL in Australia. In the middle-order, they have the basics covered with experienced Shoaib Malik and Umar Amin.
Bowling department looks a bit inexperienced as they will heavily rely on Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali. Young U19 pacer Mohammad Amir just like Akif Javed of Islamabad will be a player to watch out.
The match is expected to be a great interesting thriller. Today is a double-header as Lahore Qalandars will face Multan Sultan in Lahore at 7.00 pm.
