Karachi: Pakistan’s 27-month long streak of remaining the No.1 T20 team has ended after the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) annual rankings update.

Australia are now the No.1 T20I side for the first time in history with 278 ranking points. Pakistan have slipped to No.4 with 260 points.

Since January 2019, Pakistan had a bad form in T20Is, losing series to South Africa, England, and Australia. Earlier this year, they won a series against Bangladesh at home.

Australia, on the other hand, has also snatched the No.1 Test spot from India with 116 rating points. New Zealand (115) and India(114) are placed at second and third on the rankings respectively.

India were at the top spot since October 2016. India had won 12 Tests and lost just one Test in 2016-17, the records of which were removed in the latest update.

In ODIs, World Champions England (127) have increased their lead over India from six to eight points New Zealand remains in third place, three points behind India. The top ten rankings remain unchanged.
