Stuart Broad moves to No. 3 spot in ICC Test Bowling Rankings

Dubai: England’s Stuart Broad has moved to No.3 spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC)’s Test bowlers rankings.

On Wednesday, ICC updated the rankings after England beat West Indies in the third and final Test, claiming the series 2-1 in Manchester.

The right-arm pacer Broad took 16 wickets in the last two Tests after being left out from Southampton encounter. He also became the seventh bowler and the fourth pacer to reach 500 wickets landmark in the elite format of the game.

England’s Chris Woakes, who took a five-wicket haul in the second innings has moved to 20th position. India’s Jasprit Bumrah has dropped down a place and is currently at the eighth spot and West Indies captain skipper Jason Holder has dropped down by two places and is at the fifth spot.

Broad has also moved to 11th spot from 14th among all-rounders after his brilliant performance with the bat, scoring 62 off 45 balls in first innings.

Opener Rory Burns has gained 13 spots to reach 17th position in batsman rankings after scores of 57 and 90 at the Old Trafford, the first time the Burns left-hander has moved into the top 20.

Ollie Pope earned his career-best 46th position, gaining 24 slots on the back of his 91 in his only innings of the match, while Jos Buttler’s knock of 67 has moved him from 50th to 44th.
