‘England should definitely tour Pakistan’ new ECB chairman Ian Watmore

Karachi: England should definitely tour Pakistan if it is safe to do so, according to the new England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman Ian Watmore.

Pakistan last hosted England in 2005 for ODI and Test series and now they are scheduled to tour Pakistan in 2022.

“It would be brilliant for us and for the game there to get cricket back on,” Watmore siad.

“With Pakistan back hosting cricket we should definitely go and tour there if it’s at all safe to do so,” he added.

Last month, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani said that England’s next tour of Pakistan would not take place at neutral venues.

“I don’t think there will be any reason for England not to come. I’m very clear that we won’t play in neutral venues. We either play in Pakistan or we won’t play.”

Pakistan yesterday finished their tour of England against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic that have affected all sports around the globe.

It must be noted that Pakistan played and trained in a bio-secure bubble, with the three Tests and three T20I matches, all held behind closed doors.
