India’s home series against England could be played in UAE: Reports

Karachi: India’s home series against England in January 2021 could take place in UAE after the Board of Control of India (BCCI) signed an agreement with the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).

According to ESPNCricinfo, there have been brief discussions in which the possibility of India hosting England, as well as next year’s IPL, in the UAE has been raised.

The signing of an agreement to ‘boost the cricketing ties’ between the BCCI and the ECB this weekend, suggests that the UAE is a good option to host.

England were due to tour India for limited-overs matches in October before returning for a five-match Test series in January 2021.

However, due to the coronavirus crisis, the first leg was postponed, the tours are set to be combined into one.

It must be noted that the T20 World Cup in Australia was postponed which was scheduled in October-November  2020. BCCI organized IPL in place of the mega tournament.
