Haider Ali aims to score fifty on ODI debut

Rawalpindi: Top-order batsman Haider Ali has aimed to score fifty on ODI debut against Zimbabwe just like he smashed fifty against England on T20I debut in September.

The 20-year-old is playing his first ODI match today at Pindi Cricket Stadium, becoming the 226th player to represent Pakistan in this format.

“I will try to give my 100 % and look to score half-century and convert it into a big one,” Haider said in a video released by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

He emphasized that every individual who starts playing cricket has only one goal, that is to represent Pakistan.

“After playing U19, a player aims to go step by step. I am thankful to Allah that I am on that stage to play for Pakistan,” he added.

He thanked his family members for supporting him in accomplishing his dream of playing for Pakistan as it was hard for him to continue his studies alongside cricket.

On the other hand, debutant pacer Musa Khan is aiming to put remarkable performances with the ball on his home ground.
