Imam-ul-Haq to return to Pakistan before second Test
Mount Maunganui: Left-handed opener Imam-ul-Haq hasn’t been able to recover from a thumb fracture, hence he will return to Pakistan before the second Test.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Imam will travel back from Auckland to Lahore tomorrow at 6:30 pm local time. He will complete his rehabilitation phase here in Pakistan.
Remember, Imam got his left hand’s thumb fracture during the training session ahead of the T20I series.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam is recovering from a right-hand thumb fracture and has also started knocking with a hardball. According to PCB’s medical panel, Babar has shown massive improvement in his injury and will remain under monitoring for the next few days. His participation in the second Test will be decided closer to the time.
Pakistan will play the second Test from January 3 at Hagley Oval.
