Kamran awaits for Pakistan call-up after record-breaking first-class season
Karachi: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kamran Ghulam is now aiming to represent Pakistan at the highest level after he created history by scoring record runs in a single edition of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
The 25-year-old reached the milestone yesterday in the tournament’s final against Central Punjab. Later, he scored his fifth century in the competition.
Kamran, who represented Pakistan’s junior side at the 2014 U19 World Cup, surpassed Saadat Ali, who had scored 1,217 in the 1983-84 season.
“This has been an extraordinary season for me and I am grateful to my teammates and my coaches who have played an integral role in my success this season,” Kamran told to pcb.com.pk.

“I also want to thank my family as this would not have been possible without their sacrifices in this extraordinary season which has kept the players away from their houses for the past four months,” he added.
Kamran concluded the season with 1249 with an average of 65+. He now wants to build this confidence and wear the Pakistan badge at the international level.
“This season has given me a lot of confidence and now I have more faith in my abilities than before. Having a legend like Abdul Razzaq as a coach has helped me in identifying my strengths and now my aim is to build on them,” he maintained.
“My aim is now to build on this and represent Pakistan at the highest level,” he concluded.
It must be noted, Kamran was honored as Domestic Cricketer of the Year at PCB Awards, announced on January 1.
