Karachi, Multan to lock horns in first clash of Saturday’s double-header

Karachi: Defending champions Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans will take on each other in the first match of Saturday’s doubleheader at the National Stadium.

Karachi is placed fourth while Multan is at fifth position on the points table. Both teams will further look to improve their spots as the tournament is now going forward in an exciting phase.

The clash will be one to watch out for as Karachi is coming with a defeat while Multan won their previous match over Lahore Qalandars convincingly by seven wickets.

Karachi will be hoping that their bowlers will step up after they couldn’t defend a score of 197 against Islamabad United while Multan’s bowling looked sharp yesterday after the inclusion of pacer Sohail Khan upfront.

Batting of both sides has left no questions. Karachi’s Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam smashed the highest opening partnership of PSL’s history while Multan is banking on Mohammad Rizwan and James Vince. Sohaib Maqsood also showed promise yesterday with score of 61.

The pitch is expected to be a belter for batters and can provide an advantage to the team batting second as the scores of 190+ are also chasable.

Karachi has an edge over Multan in terms of head to head as they have won four out of seven and have lost only one.

The teams are expected to be unchanged for this high-voltage clash. The match starts at 2.00 pm
