Iftikhar eyeing permanent spot in Pakistan’s T20 side
Karachi: Middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed is confident of cementing his spot in Pakistan’s T20 squad.
The 30-year-old Iftikhar is currently representing Islamabad United in season six of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He thinks that the competition provides an excellent opportunity for all players to confirm a spot in the national side for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup later this year.
“I have been part of the national team’s set-up for the past two years and I am determined to represent Pakistan in the T20 World Cup,” he told pcb.com.pk.
The right-hander stated that he doesn’t take criticism ina negative way but it helps him to further improve.
“When I am criticised, I work harder. I try to prove the criticism wrong with my performances,” he added.
Note, Iftikhar made his international debut in an ODI against England in 2015. He has represented Pakistan in three Tests, 7 ODIs and 15 T20Is
