PCB opposes demolition of LCCA ground into five-star hotel
Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has opposed the construction of a five-star hotel in place of Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) ground, ARY Sports reported.
According to sources, PCB is in favor of building a hotel in Nishtar Park Sports Complex. “Hotels should not be built on cricket grounds,” PCB’s source said.
“The LCCA Ground is for the expansion of the National High-Performance Center (NHPC). The ground is not owned by the cricket board but we will not agree on a plan to build a hotel on the cricket ground,” PCB’s source added.
It must be noted that PCB and Sports Board Punjab (SBP) on Thursday agreed to build a 5-Star hotel, comprising of 1,000 rooms at Nishtar Park Sports Complex. The idea is to provide hassle-free security and traffic control for foreign players in Lahore.
The recent development suggested that the hotel would be built in place of LCCA Ground.
