Quetta Gladiators eye first win in PSL 6 against Islamabad United

Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Quetta Gladiators is aiming to win their first game of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six against Islamabad United today at the National Stadium in Karachi.

2019 PSL champions have lost their first three matches this year as their bowling has let them down on two previous occasions. They couldn’t defend scores of 178 and 198 against Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi respectively.

On the other hand, Islamabad United will look to shift their focus after what happened to them yesterday where Australia’s Fawad Ahmed was tested positive for COVID-19.

They were thrashed by table-toppers Peshawar Zalmi by six wickets in their last encounter after winning the first two games.

Meanwhile, United will look to break the pattern of teams winning the match batting second. They have the likes of Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan who can easily defend a target of over 160+.

Gladiators would have an advantage coming into this match as they have a lead of 7-4 in a head-to-head comparison.

Note, the Gladiators-United match was postponed yesterday. Today, there was a scheduled rest-day in PSL 6, however, following the positive COVID-19 result of Fawad, the match will take place today at 7.00 pm.
