‘Some people try to create rift between me and Rizwan’ Sarfaraz

Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has stated that there are some people who are trying to create misunderstandings between him and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan.

The 28-year-old Rizwan has been Pakistan’s first preferred wicketkeeper for last 1.5 years after Sarfaraz was dethroned from the captaincy of all three formats.

“Some people want to create an atmosphere of quarrel between me and Rizwan for no reason. I’ve no problems with Rizwan,” he said while inaugrating a plantation drive at a housing society in Karachi.

The 33-year-old Sarfaraz has hailed Rizwan’s recent performances. “Rizwan has excelled in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after proving in all three formats of Pakistan,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sarfaraz expressed his sadness as the PSL 6 was postponed due to rising cases of COVID-19 among players and officials. “The board had no other choice except to postpone the tournament because of Covid-19,” he added.

Sarfaraz, who leads Quetta Gladiators in PSL, is confident to continue the winning momentum once the tournament resumes.
