‘First-class cricket helped me a lot to make strong comeback’ Hasan Ali
HARARE: Pacer Hasan Ali credited First-Class cricket for his resounding comeback to international cricket, having bagged nineteen wickets in his last four Tests.
Speaking to reporters after Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by an innings and 116 runs, Hasan said he is satisfied with his performance and worked really hard for this day.
“I remained out of cricket for almost two years. That period was too tough for me even I cried many times after suffering from multiple injuries. But, with the support of my wife, family and well-wishers I stood up again and worked really for this strong comeback,” Hasan shared.
“First-class cricket helped me a lot and I think after 2016, I played the whole FC season for the very first time. I enjoyed playing there and worked on my fitness, my technique and performed there as well. That performance put confidence in me and here I am today,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hasan dedicated this match-winning performance to his daughter Helena who took birth last month. “I am missing her and can’t wait to hold her in my hands. Literally, I am counting days when I will get back home,” he said.
In conclusion, Hasan also advised youngsters to play the most important format Test Cricket and prepare themselves for it by playing First-Class cricket. “It’s every player’s own choice to play whichever format they want. I personally always wanted to play Test cricket, alhamdulillah I got a Test cap and represented my country. For Test cricket, you need to play a full season of FC cricket as it makes you strong in this format,” he concluded.
