India’s politicisation of cricket cannot be condemned enough: Foreign office
Islamabad: Pakistan has condemned India’s forceful act of not allowing foreign players to play in the maiden Kashmir Premier League (KPL), starting from August 6.
While responding to South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs tweet, who asserted that BCCI is preventing him from playing in KPL, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri expressed condemnation of India’s politicisation of cricket as it will deprive emerging Kashmiris to play against top-notched international stars.

On the other hand, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that this is not for the first time, neighbor country have done these evil politics.
“This is not the first time that the Modi government has sacrificed cricket for its nefarious politics. The pressure on Herschelle Gibbs not to participate in the Kashmir League is a continuation of this old practice. We strongly condemn these measures. There will be no harm from this, only benefit.

It must be noted that four players including Monty Panesar, Matt Prior, Phil Mustard, and Owais Shah have withdrawn from KPL due to Indian pressure.
KPL management took notice of this and decided to not include any foreign player but Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan have decided to play despite all odds and represent Muzaffarabad Tigers in KPL.
In this regard, KPL have opened up a list of local players once again and they will replace all foreigners. KPL is scheduled from August 6 to 16 in Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir.
