Babar’s leadership will be important for Pakistan in T20 World Cup: Sammy

Karachi: Former West Indies captain Daren Sammy believes that Babar Azam’s captaincy will be crucial for Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup in October/November in UAE.

While talking to ICC’s special digital show for mega event, Sammy said there’s no denying Babar Azam as a batter but his decision-making on the field will be the key thing to watch.

“Babar’s leadership will be important for Pakistan in T20 World Cup. We all know, how class he is as a batsman but if he makes some sound decisions from a captaincy point-of-view because of the bowlers he has, if he can rotate them, Pakistan will be a force to reckon,” Sammy opined.

Pakistan are placed in Group B of Super12 with India, New Zealand and Afghanistan. Two other teams will qualify from Round 1.
