England dismiss India for 78 runs in Third Test
LEEDS: England bowlers dominated Day 1 of the third Test completely as they bowled out India for just 78 runs in the first inning.
After deciding to bat first, India failed to acclimatize to the situation and started falling apart.
James Anderson picked up three quick wickets to reduce India to 21-3. It was yet again the right-arm pacer proved himself with the red-ball. KL Rahul (0), Chateshwar Pujara (1), and Virat Kohli (97) fell to the pacer.
Ajinkya Rahane and opener Rohit Sharma played under pressure but stayed at the crease to score some runs for the tourists. But, England bowlers were in another mood.
Craig Overton removed Rahane to put India suffering at 56-4 and Ollie Robbinson bagged Rohit Sharma after Overton already taking the wicket of Rishab Pant to reduce India to 58-5.
Rohit (19) and Rahane (18) were the only two batters to score double figures.
Anderson and Overton bagged three wickets each while Robbinson and Sam Curran took two wickets each.
