Hafeez, Malik fail on opening day of CPL 2021
BASSETERRE: Pakistan’s veteran cricketers Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez failed to score runs on the opening day of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Both the players were signed by Guyana Amazon Warriors for this season. In the opening match against Trinbago Knight Riders, Hafeez scored just eight runs while Malik walked off after scoring two.
Shimron Hetmyer scored unbeaten 54 runs for Warriors as they won the match by 9 runs to start CPL 2021’s campaign on a winning note.
It must be noted here that CPL 2020 is an important tournament for both Hafeez and Malik to perform and make their case stronger for the T20 World Cup selection in the Pakistan team.
