‘I’ve suggested Ramiz Bhai to not change current PCB system’ Afridi
KARACHI: Former international cricketer Shahid Afridi shared that he texted Ramiz Raja who is likely to become the next Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Afridi said Ramiz will be the first PCB chairman whom he congratulated via text.
“Ramiz Bhai is capable of PCB chairmanship. Because he has a fair knowledge of cricket by playing, commentating for a long time, and spending time with big cricketing names,” he said.
“He will be the first PCB chairman whom I have congratulated via a text. I really want him to take Pakistan cricket forward. I just suggested him not to change the current PCB system. Because, I believe every system needs some time to deliver results, changing it immediately will cause problems,” he shared.
Afridi also suggested Ramiz to bring people at the helm on merit. “Ramiz Bhai is a sensible man with good vision. Only, he needs to bring sincere people who can work for the betterment and not their personal interest,” he said.
“At such a position, you have to put your personal interest aside and think for Pakistan. As far as Malik and Hafeez are concerned, so I think they are currently the need of the Pakistan team,” Afridi responded to a question regarding veteran cricketers’ career after Ramiz takes charge of PCB.
Remember, Malik and Hafeez had an online spat with Ramiz after the latter asked both the veteran cricketers to leave international cricket citing the age factor.
