Bowlers dominate on Day 4, Blasters, Challengers register wins

KARACHI: Anoosha Nasir bagged five wickets as Challengers beat Strikers by eight wickets in the seventh match of Pakistan Cup Women’s One Day Tournament here on Wednesday. 

It was skipper Javeria Khan who did the job with the bat for her team and paid off Anoosha’s efforts with the ball. The right-handed batter smoked 80 runs with the help of 13 boundaries. Iram Javed remained not out with her skipper at 43, laced with five boundaries and a six.

Challengers chased down 164 runs in 31.1 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Earlier, Anoosha helped Challengers bowl out Strikers for 163 runs. Apart from Anoosha, Diana Baig bagged three wickets whereas Saba Nazir took two.

Ayesha Zafar scored 38 whereas Jaweria Rauf and Yusra Amir made 27 and 26 runs respectively for Strikers.

In eighth match of the tournament, Syeda Aroob Shah of Blasters guided her team to bowl out Dynamites for 104. She took four wickets for 25 runs followed by two wickets each for Fatima Sana and Nida Dar.

Sadaf Shams tried hard to rescue Dynamites but she managed to score just 33 runs off 53 balls including four boundaries. Kainat Hafeez made 21.

In reply, Nahida Khan continued her form and struck 43 runs off 65 balls with the help of four boundaries. Gul Feroza made 29. Blasters chased the target in 24.1 overs

Nashra Sandhu and Ghulam Fatima picked up a scalp each for Dynamites.
