Fans react as Naseem mimics Cottrell’s trademark salute in CPL 2021

St. Kitts and Nevis: Pakistan’s Naseem Shah unveiled a West Indies’ Sheldon Cottrell-like salute during the second semi-final of CPL 2021 on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old Naseem, representing St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, took figures of 2/34. He mimiced his teammate’s Cottrell celebration after dismissing Guyana Amazon Warriors’ Brandon King.

Cottrell is a soldier by profession and salutes to show his respect to the Jamaica Defence Force after taking a wicket.

The netizens reacted to Naseem’s salute and some of them enjoyed while many thought that he needs to work with Cottrell more to perfect his salute.

It must be noted that St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots beat Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven wickets to qualify for the final of CPL 2021. They will take on St. Lucia Kings in the final today, who won by 21 runs against Trinbago Knight Riders.
