Imran scores 54 before KP bowlers take hold of SP
RAWALPINDI: Mohammad Imran Randhawa displayed positive intent and scored fighting 54 runs before his team Southern Punjab (SP) suffered a collapse and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) bowled them out for 152.
In the fifth match of the National T20 Cup here at Pindi Stadium, SP were off to a shaky start after they lost three quick wickets despite openers Zeeshan Ashraf and Zain Abbas scoring 26 runs in 3.2 overs.
Zeeshan walked off after scoring 11, skipper Sohaib Maqsood failed to get off the mark whereas Zain (12) left his team suffering at 34-3.
Imran then did a rescue operation for SP as they came out of danger to score 104 runs in 14.1 overs. Imran struck 54 runs off 46 balls laced with seven boundaries and a six. Khushdil Shah made 24 whereas Hassan Khan contributed 24 including four boundaries.
Imran Khan Sr bagged four wickets, Shaheen Shah Afridi took three, Wasim Jr took two scalps whilst Asif Afridi managed one for KPK.
