International cricketers support Pakistan after NZ canceled tour

Rawalpindi: Numerous international cricketers have supported Pakistan after New Zealand decided to cancel a limited-overs tour on security threats.
Former West Indies captain Darren Sammy, cricketer Sherfane Rutherford, Sri Lanka’s Angelo Perera tweeted and backed Pakistan’s security.
“I have always felt save, this is massive blow to Pakistan,” Sammy wrote.
Disappointed waking up to the news of the cancellation of the Pakistan Vs New Zealand series because of security issues.Over the last 6 years playing and visiting Pakistan has been one of the most enjoyable experiences. I’ve always felt safe. this is a massive blow to Pakistan

The @TheRealPCB and the government have worked so hard to get cricket back to Pakistan. Again I will say Pakistan is one of the safest places I’ve played cricket. The fans are amazing. I feel at home when I’m there. So disappointed right now. https://t.co/7vlGIRw73h pic.twitter.com/PUaZgG8qBS

“Pakistani is the safest country for cricket and cricket-loving country,” Rutherford opined.
Feelings for my pakistani friends not a good news for cricket lovers .
I've travelled to many countries.
Pakistani is the safest country for cricket and cricket loving country.#PAKvNZ— Sherfane Rutherford (@SRutherford_50) September 17, 2021
Perara recalled his tour with the Sri Lankan team where he enjoyed every bit of it.
Toured @TheRealPCB 2 years back and really enjoyed every minute of our stay!! Felt extremely welcomed and also safe tbh! Never had any doubt
Genuinely wanna see cricket return to this great nation! @danushka_70 @dasunshanaka1 pic.twitter.com/ovjroZbXx9

Very sad to read about the cancellation of the NZ tour of Pakistan. Was part of the Sri Lanka tour last time and I must admit that besides the country being full of great people, the security was top class and attention paid to detail @TheRealPCB. Hope sanity prevails.

1/2 New Zealand Cricket would not have made the decision to end their tour of Pakistan lightly- they have shown time and again that they are willing to do their part to promote and play our great game so I don’t think it’s right to be critical of them.

2/2 we are all however disappointed for Pakistan cricket, it’s players and supporters. A wonderful cricketing country that has, for a long time, been denied consistent top level cricket. Hopefully the situation in the country improves quickly!

It must be noted here that NZC ‘unilaterally decided to postpone Pakistan tour’ citing security threats despite Prime Minister Imran Khan’s foolproof security assurance to New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Genuinely wanna see cricket return to this great nation!
Feel for all there
