‘Looking forward to see exciting Pakistani crowd’ Matt Henry

RAWALPINDI: New Zealand’s fast bowler Matt Henry is excited to see the Pakistani crowd at their home ground cheering for the game.

In a virtual press conference on Sunday, Henry recalled his memories with the Pakistani crowd in ICC World Cup 2019 at Edgbaston.

“I saw enthusiastic Pakistani crowd back from our World Cup contest against them at Edgbaston. They were amazingly cheering for their team and that really makes me excited to see them at their home ground,” Henry shared.

Talking about Desi food, Henry said they received a lot of recommendations but it’s not too long they have been in Pakistan. “We just touched down here a day ago. We have a lot of recommendations about local food but haven’t tasted any of them so far. But, we will try them for sure,” he said.

ODI Series preparations

Henry is confident that his team will bounce back after having a poor Bangladesh tour. “Our players gained experience in Bangladesh. The conditions in the subcontinent are mostly the same so we will try to implement here whatever we have,” he said.

“Yes, conditions here are a bit different. Batters here get some space to score runs and obviously, bowlers also get enough chances. Pakistan is a strong side and we are looking forward to facing them strongly,” he added.

It must be noted here that Pakistan and New Zealand will play three ODIs on September 17, 19, and 21 at Pindi Stadium. These ODIs are not a part of ICC Cricket World Cup Super League fixtures after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) failed to arrange DRS system.
