Misbah may not serve head coach duties in NZ ODIs

Lahore: Pakistan men’s team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq may not join Green Shirts for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand in Rawalpindi, starting from September 17, reports suggested.

According to Cricket Pakistan, Head of International Player Development at the National High-Performance Centre (NHPC), and the national team’s Bowling Coach Waqar Younis are among the options to replace Misbah.

Misbah has not returned to Pakistan after he tested positive for Covid-19 following the Test series against West Indies and went through a mandatory quarantine period in Jamaica. He will return to Pakistan tomorrow.

It is not yet confirmed whether Misbah will serve his duties or not as the team has to enter bio-secure bubble from September 8.

It must be noted that the players will undergo the COVID-19 test at their respective cities tomorrow before joining the bio-bubble.
