Dead body, Pakistani fisherman, India, Pakistan,

KARACHI: Dead body of Pakistani fisherman who passed away in an Indian jail will reach Pakistan on Thursday, ARY News reported.

Sources on Wednesday said the Indian officials will hand over body of the Pakistani fisherman Muhammed Sohail at Wagah Border, Lahore. They said the body would be brought to Karachi on request of the Fishermen Cooperative Society.

“His body will be handed over to his heirs at Machchar Colony in the metropolis,” they said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistani national in Indian jail had died on April 26, a spokesperson of Fishermen’s Co-operative Society had earlier said.

The spokesperson had said that fisherman, Muhammad Sohail died in an Indian jail adding that he was the fourth Pakistani, who died in Indian custody during a short span of one month.

He had said,” Muhammad Sohail went for fishing over two years ago and was taken into custody by Indian forces on October 2, 2016 over mistakenly entering into Indian waters.”

The spokesperson had said that reasons of his death were not known yet and added that it would take three to four days to bring his body back to Pakistan.

He had said that Muhammad Sohail was a resident of Muhammadi Colony in Karachi.

It may be pointed out that Pakistan announced last month to release 360 Indian fishermen this year as a good will gesture. Earlier, 300 fishermen had been released and handed over to Indian authorities this month. This was the last batch of 60 fishermen released on Sunday.
