PCB seeks advice on creating bio-secure bubble for Zimbabwe series from ECB
Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought advice from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on creating a bio-secure bubble for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe, which is scheduled in late October.
PCB is expected to stage T20I and ODI series in Multan and Rawalpindi respectively where the upcoming National T20 Cup is also scheduled.
According to the Press Trust of India (PTI), the series against Zimbabwe is being taken very seriously by the board as it will create a parameter of organizing international series at home against other countries in prevailing conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These two venues are under consideration since both will be hosting the National T20 Championship in a bio-secure environment because of COVID-19 restrictions,” a PCB source said.
Sources also revealed that the PCB is also looking to decide the itinerary of the series against South Africa, which could be held in January or in late March 2021.
It must be noted that ECB has successfully hosted the English summer. They hosted West Indies for three-match Test series, Pakistan for three Tests and as many T20Is, Ireland played three ODIs. Australia are currently in England for three-match T20I series and as many ODIs. All matches are played at only two venues, Manchester and Southampton.
