Players’ COVID-19 tests for Domestic Season 2020-21 start from today

Lahore: COVID-19 testing of players for the domestic season 2020-21 will start from today, ARY Sports reported.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was criticized after they announced that the players have to undergo tests on an individual basis.

However, Director National High-Performance Center (NHPC) clarified that the expenses of the first COVID-19 test will be reimbursed by the PCB.

“Taking care of the health and safety of the players and staff is our top priority. Players are present all over the country, due to logistical problems, cricketers are being asked to do the first COVID-19 test by themselves. The PCB will pay the expenses later,” Nadeem said.

“The second COVID-19 test of all the players will be done by the PCB itself at its central station,” he added.

Nadeem revealed that the players who were part of the national team on the tour of England will join their respective sides on September 25th as they are allowed to spend time with their family after a 2.5-month-long tour.

It must be noted that Pakistan’s domestic season 2020-21 is starting from September 30 with National T20 Cup.
