Sarfaraz likely to play ODI series against SA: Reports

KARACHI: Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed likely to make comeback in ODIs against South Africa, reports claimed on Wednesday.

Sarfaraz is reportedly expected to play as a wicket-keeper batsman in ODIs against South Africa whereas Mohammad Rizwan will play as batsman/fielder. Asif Ali or Haider Ali will be dropped from the team in case of Sarfaraz’s inclusion.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sarfaraz last played in ODIs as captain against Sri Lanka in 2019. He was then not only removed from captaincy but also got dropped from the team.

Pakistan is scheduled to play three ODIs and four T20Is against South Africa from April 2 to 16.
