‘Will try to express myself on my chance’ Saud Shakeel

DERBY: Middle-order batsman Saud Shakeel has expressed confidence in performing for Pakistan on the given opportunity any day. 

In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the second Intra-Squad practice match got called off due to heavy rain, Saud said he is waiting for his opportunity on the back of a healthy experience in domestic cricket.

“I have played a lot of domestic cricket and when you perform in domestic cricket and then come in the national team, you got a lot of confidence,” he said.

“Being in the national team is in itself a learning experience. Team management is supporting and teaching a lot of things to us. I am waiting for my opportunity and I am confident to express myself on my chance,” he added.

Saud told the importance of practice matches especially on the tours like England. “We did indoor net sessions and played a practice match here which helped us to get use to of the conditions,” he shared.

“Unfortunately, today’s match got called off due to rain. I hope we do an indoor session but overall, good practice is underway here and I hope we can win matches here,” he concluded.
