Aim is to reset Pakistan cricket’s GPS: Ramiz Raja

Karachi: Ramiz Raja, former Pakistan captain and a possible candidate to replace Ehsan Mani as PCB Chairman, has revealed his plans as going forward as the head of country’s cricket.

Ehsan confirmed to Prime Minister Imran Khan that he won’t seek an extension after which Khan named two Ramiz and Asad Ali Khan the two new members of the PCB’s Board of Governors (BoG).

Now, there could be an election if another BoG member wants to contest, but normally, a PM’s nominee is unlikely to meet any resistance.

Justice rtd. Azmat Sheikh has already been appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner for these elections. The election dates are yet to be revealed.

When nominated by Imran three years ago, Mani was elected unopposed. In the same way, Ramiz should find his way to the top position.

“I have given him (Imran Khan) my plans. He will make a call,” Ramiz told Cricbuzz. “The aim is to reset Pakistan cricket’s GPS and will be in pursuit of excellence,” he added.

It must be noted that on Monday, Ehsan and Ramiz both met PM Imran Khan, also the patron-in-cheif of PCB. Mani met on Tuesday too where he informed PM Khan about his decision.
