‘Phenomenal superstar under construction’ Bishop hails Shaheen
Jamaica: Former West Indian pacer Ian Bishop has urged Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to manage pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi with care over the next 10-12 years.
The 21-year-old Shaheen bagged 10 wickets in the second Test against West Indies, including a career-best 6/51 in the first innings.
“Shaheen Shah Afridi every Sunday, every day for me because he is an all-format bowler, an attacking bowler,” Bishop said in the 35th episode of PCB’s podcast.
“He is a weapon at 21-years-old and there is no much he can learn. My one request for everyone in Pakistan cricket to please manage him carefully over the next 10-12 years. Phenomenal superstar under construction,” he added.
He also praised Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Fawad Alan, describing them as world-class batters.
