‘Persistence personified’ Badree lauds Alam’s dedication
JAMAICA: Former West Indian cricketer Samuel Badree applauded Pakistan’s Test batsman Fawad Alam for scoring the fifth century in his eighth Test since his comeback after a hiatus of 11 years.
Taking to Twitter after Alam scored his fifth Test century to lift Pakistan up in the ongoing second Test, Badree appreciated the dedication of the left-handed batter who was dropped 11 years ago despite scoring a century on his Test debut.
“Consider a Test century on debut and dropped after 3 tests. Consider the first-class average over 60 since 2010 and not selected for the test team. And finally, consider 5 test centuries in 8 tests after a hiatus of 11 years. Persistence personified,” he wrote.

It must be noted here that Pakistan are leading the second Test as they reduced West Indies to 39-3 on Day 3. The hosts are trailed by 263 runs.
