Fawad exposes India with proof behind threatening NZ to cancel Pak tour

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry exposed India with proof of sending fake threatening emails to New Zealand after which they called off the Pakistan tour. 

In an important press conference alongside Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed here on Wednesday, the federal minister shared some fake Indian email ids through which the threats were sent to New Zealand authorities.

“On September 17 at 11:25 am (PST), an Indian fake account named hamzaafridi7899@gmail.com sent a threatening email to New Zealand from India by using VPN, and Singapore was set as the location. The email read that the New Zealand team will suffer a terror attack in Pakistan. This mail address was made just 15 minutes before the delivery of the only email and it was registered on an Indian number belongs to a man named Om Prakash from Mumbai, Maharashtra,” Fawad revealed.

Moreover, Fawad disclosed that the propaganda against this tour had started in August when a fake Facebook account named Ahsanullah Ahsan posted about a possible terror attack on the touring team in Pakistan.

“On August 21, a fake Facebook account named Ahsanullah Ahsan [ex spokesperson TTP and JUA] posted about a possible attack on the New Zealand team. Later on August 21, an Indian publication Sunday Guardian published an article, claiming a possible terror attack on New Zealand in Pakistan,

“On August 24, Martin Guptill’s wife received an email [Proton mail] which read that her husband will be killed in a terror attack in Pakistan. However, after all these things, New Zealand came to Pakistan and spent three days in tight security where they also had training sessions in Pindi Stadium,” he shared.

Moving on, Fawad also revealed that West Indies, who is scheduled to tour Pakistan in December, has already started receiving security threats from fake email addresses.

“We have received information related to some fake email addresses that have sent threats to West Indies who will tour Pakistan in December this year. We have contacted Interpol for further help in this regard,” he concluded.

It must be noted here that New Zealand called off the Pakistan tour just minutes before the toss for the first ODI followed by England who withdrew both their men’s and women’s teams from the Pakistan tour, which was scheduled in mid-October.
